Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - late night fixie ride in Minneapolis?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Anyone interested?
40 miles maybe? Get in some killer hills?
I've got Saturday off, so we could start earlier, or maybe I'll join up with the ride in Dinkytown. I don't drink so it could be a downer for me.

i am down with night riding.. i usually work on saturdays (till 3:30 am) so the dinkytown ride is out for me..
So, what--now I have to choose?
Not really surprising, but I'll be going to the one that stops at bars :) Probably have a fairly loaded bag, too. I'm thinking of buying a bag of ice and then transfering it into ziploc baggies so there isn't to much chance of leakage to keep em cold.
Unless it's earlier in the day, then I might be up for doing both. I dunno about 40 though. 20 would probably be max for me doing both, I might have to turn around halfway. Nothing wears my legs faster than backpedaling downhill, too. Nothing.
I think it might really make my a$$ hurt on sunday, though.
Hmmm. Choices... Life is full of choices! I could do both myself. I haven't done the Dinkytown ride, and I do have the night off. It might be fun to try and pull off a century by night. I haven't done a century this whole year. Last year I did one a month for 11 months, I did two in a couple months.

Give Sat ride a chance first-we do about 40 most of the time,if not more. There is at least 50% that doesn't drink,15% that only drink's if we stop at bar's,20% that share of few on the road and a few at the bar and less then 15% like me who love to drink hard and bike hard.I recentlly demanded Saturday's off work, if anyone wants to take the trail out to Victoria in the afternoon-drink some beer's at Floyd's come back and do Sat night ride we could easily get a century in. Allthough last time I rode Sat ther was alot of new people(22 riders in all, compared to the average 5-12) so it was alot slower and more chaotic. Just my opinion as it has been a while since I rode every week. blah blah blah-please no grammer lesson's I've been drinking.

Correction the ride is usually 20 to 30 mile's, I just ride in from St Louis Park so it's more for me.
I think you missed why he's asking about the late night ride - he's not off of work until the ride is well under way. We'd have to have a destination that we could all meet up at early in the morning/late in the night so he could join up...
