02/25....23.6 miles around Bonelli Park/ Puddingstone...I did a couple of figure 8's so that I'd set myself up to climb the hill next to the 57 fwy a couple of times. Nice hilly ride! I haven't been out that way for a long time, since the price of gas sky rocketed. I used to do this ride 2 or 3 times a week a few years back.
I don't know any of these people but they were out there!:D

Love the gardening gloves! Good to see people getting out there with whatever they've got.

Boyd Reynolds!:roflmao2:.....yup, this guy was doing pretty good too! Most riders ride down this hill, he's one of the few that I've seen ride up!:thumb:...No fancy bike, no fancy gloves!:D
Nice video, lovin the music. Brings back memories of high school days. Man if you had a Boston or Peter Frampton cassette in your car you had it made with the chicks! Wait, what's a cassette?

NO brakes, they stop using the pedals. On the downhill, he could only go as fast as he could pedal. He flew up the short climbs though!:D

Bonnelli scares me after the Turkey Ti from '09 - 58F in the water and I didn't have a wetsuit. Looks a little nicer in these pics.

You have to stop taunting us with your weather...:twitchy: Today my glasses were covered in ice after a run to the grocery store. Thanks for showing me what spring looks like.

Hey great thread. Been goin' out there for a few years now for the TriEvents races and I love biking around Bonelli.
I've actually been racing my fixie in this year's Bonelli Park Championship Tri Series and have been having a blast! (I'm obviously not competitive, but it is a freakin' good time. And I do the run barefoot too for that matter...).
Anyway, I'm new to the forum so just wanted to say thanks for all the interesting info!
Dan
ps - here's one, but if you want to see pics from last week's int'l distance race, I put 'em up on my little blog - www.AlternativeAthlete.com (http://www.alternativeathlete.com).

Cool, like the TP picture!:roflmao2:
Is it me or is your saddle height very low? Doesn't look like much of an extension.
Just for the record, it's always female tank top weather!!!

Hahaha Thanks! Yeah, I had to bring that roll of TP with me on the Solvang Century a few years ago... ;)
Aesthetically speaking, I agree that the saddle height is a tad low. I tend to like lower top tubes myself, but this is an oldie, so the high top tube kinda fits the look I guess. Plus, its a 63cm frame (an '87 Peugeot Avoriaz I converted from a 10-speed to fixie). My girlfriend bought it for me off craigslist after I was hit by a motorist last year and my bike was totalled (hard to quibble about size when I have a GF cool enough to encourage my addiction!;) Fit-wise when I'm in the saddle though, I love it. I'm a tad over 6'1" and as it is, I get a full extension when the pedal is all the way down (and I could easily raise the seat so that my feet wouldn't even touch the ground...).
My carbon road bike is a 58cm (2001 Trek 5200 w/ 2008 DA - old, but hey, if it ain't broke, right?) and I have a lot more seat tube showing on it. Here's a comparison pic of the Peugeot and Trek side-by-side:

All my music was on 8 Track and I had a Craig Power Play. They did make a cheap underdash cassette player, from Radioshack, but it sucked soundwise.

Craig stereos, haha, I 'member them!:D
MY dad bought an underdash stereo from Radioshack that played 8 track and cassette! Ahh the high life!:p
