Road Cycling - looking for professional bike fit

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I am looking to get a very professional bike fitting done. I wish I could get out to the Bicycle Ranch in Scottsdale (www.bicycleranch.com), but I need something within driving distance of Ft. Lauderdale. I want the full meal deal like the B-ranch does, but closer to home. Any suggestions?

These guys do a couple of different fitting setups, all the way up to "power" positioning (giving you the best position for comfort, aero and power). http://www.bodyzen.com/htmlsite/testing.html
I've never used them, so I have no idea how reliable they are, etc from a personal standpoint.
Here is another, last time I was in his shop he had a computrainer as well, and he was extremely nice and helpful, but again I never used him for a "fitting" session;

Thanks for the suggestions. One of these places is geared toward tri coaching, and seems to have the right tools for evaluation, but they don't carry all the bike parts needed to make the changes. The other place is an unscientific fitting using his "eye". I really am looking for a "wattage" type fitting with video feedback, laser and effort measurements. My goal is not so much in getting comfortable, but in gaining areo position and power. Any suggestions south of North Carolina are welcome!

They carry Serotta and have a Fit Tech on board (John Palmquist?)
If they can't do the video, wattage etc. I'm sure that they can suggest
someone who can.

Toni Piroli has a VERY good rep in the race community.
Given my druthers (what the hell is a druther?) I'd take
a run to clearwater.

Bicycle Sports has a location up in the St. Pete area as well - http://www.bicyclesports.com
They are very well respected as well for fitting.

Kind of off topic, but I live about 5 miles from Bicycle Ranch and it's a great shop. If you ever get a chance to come to the Phoenix area make sure to stop buy and check them out. They are extremely friendly and helpful. I ended up buying my girlfriend's bike there even though I could have gotten a team discount at another store.
They also have a variable level group ride on Saturday that's open to anyone and is generally well attended and a lot of fun.

I talked to the guys at B-Ranch after I read an article in PezCycle News about their fittings. They said they had people from out of state coming to them every week for their fittings. Count yourself lucky to have such a good shop close.

I made a road trip up there this week to get fitted to my current bike, $150.
One thing I learned was that I'm not on the correct sized bike and I'm a good candidate for a custom bike (yeah, they sell Serotta).
The only thing they measured was my inseem and shoulders.
Paraic video taped me while I was on the trainer (before and after) and showed me pedal stroke problems, fit issues, etc.
I learned (I already knew) I'm weak as a mo'fo in the core, I have a ankle issue that affects my pedal stroke-along with a tight ham. I am going to spring for professional orthotics for my cycling shoes.
Saddle height up 2.5cm
Saddle recess forward 1.5cm
Stem length up 2cm
Saddle stem release up 1.5cm
I'm planning my new purchase of a custom Serotta for the beginning of the new year. Screw it, if I'm going to ride I want to ride in comfort for years to come. My health, fitness, and body are worth it. Stop trying to save money...you can't take it with you.
What I learned;
New bike
Orthotics
Stretching
Core strengthening
