I wonder if there's money to be made by putting a webcam or two atop my building so all of you unlucky suckers out there can watch the heavies approach SFO like I do on a clear day. I'm only a little hardware and a couple of firewall rule changes from making this happen.

From my window, I always hold out for QANTAS and Air NZ between 9 and 10am and some of the midday European arrivals. I can time my arrival to the office based on where I am when I see the ANA 777 overhead.

ahhhhhh, I have it. coasting is a plane spotter spotter. talk about an obscure obessive past time. makes normal plane spotters seem normal and well adjusted.

I clicked on a plane and it was going 400 knots and 40 thousand feet. When I scrolled back to it again, it had an an airspeed of zero (but still 39 thousand feet).

If you hear of a crash in france of a Airbus A319-131, tell them I didn't do it. :innocent:

i love being on those planes that have a camera in the nose and when you approach landing you can watch the live pictures.
