Is anyone else infatuated with the Olympic biathlon? I want to try that so much I can barely stand it. Uhh, apparently so much that I lost my damn "H" :D

Is that a pink gun

Yes, I'd love to try biathlon. Looks like a blast. But then again, I'd love to try snowboarding the halfpipe and short track speedskating.

I like Jimmy Fallon's comment last night: "Thank you Biathalon for showing us a cool sport where athletes carry guns. Here in the US, we call it the NBA."

All women should carry rifles with pink stocks.

Nope, wood. Pretty sure they have upper and lower weight limitations, and weight is GOOD when shooting offhand, helps steady the gun. Oh, and its cheap. Not a lot of CF in the shooting industry, too expensive and light for most gun applications. And way too splintery... There are some Fake CF looking stocks, but only mall ninjas buy them ;)

The German Magdalena Neuner is STUNNINGLY beautiful, and shes apparently good with a gun and skiis..she won 2 golds for Germany in Womens biathlon so far :) I would love to do a BiKEathlon...on mountain bikes :D I have a few .22s...

The most popular biathlon rifles are made by Anschutz in Germany or Izmash in Russia. They have walnut stocks and generally go for $ 4-6,000 depending on the user's specifications.

I figured you more for the Nordic types in tight lycra....not that there's anything wrong with that.

I would play this sport, but I only have a full-rigid MTB and a air pistol.

I have both those as well (does an 80's schwinn "MTB" count?) I guess i can make a special class :D I got a few extra .22's, but of course I wont give you the most accurate one, that wouldnt be fair (to me)!

Since Mountain biking is a bit more extreme than XC skiing (face it, its way more extreme) I think instead of shooting stationary targets, we will shoot clay pigeons with shotguns. No light target loads allowed, only full on waterfowl loads! By the end of the race if your legs dont hurt, your shoulder will :)
