I just bought a 1980 peugeot, and I have looked at the PX-10 history page at classic rendezvous. I'm not sure if it is a P series bike. If the shifters are attached at the stem, and it has that funky foam grip material, is it a good bet that its a U08? I can't seem to determine the model based on the labeling of the various components on this bike. It has normandy hubs Simplex front and rear derailleurs, cranks are stamped Peugeot, weinman brake levers, and the stamped serial on the rear dropout is b00272631. The serial under the BB is 124 with some numbers on what appears to be a sticker U09M 66 0440590. Any help would be appreciated.

UO9, I think. Sort of a UO8, sans cottered crank.
PX's and the rest of the P models from this period would have downtube shifters, mounted on shifter bosses.
Post a photo if possible; we might be able to fathom anyhting more.
