I must be crazy to try this again.I had a Brooks B17 Special did not like it at all then I went and got what I thought was a good saddle to use it was nice for a while but then it started to hurt as well guess it was to soft lol.And I found out why my first B17 was killing me but it was to late I had it sold to some one.So just today I went and got my self a new Brooks saddle special again but this time I knew how to set it up.After talking to my LBS they told me what all I needed to do and I must say it felt pretty good on my short test ride today.I going to take a longer ride if the weather holds up in the morning think its going to be in the 50s here nice ridding weather I think. Its funny how you think you know it all on putting on a saddle but as I found out there is a lot more to it than I though it would be.Front to back and then tilt and height all goes a long way to enjoying a ride on a saddle.I think my LHT looks better now with a Brooks Saddle back on it.

Good Luck, I have a Champion Special on my LHT and it's been a ***** to break in. I messed with the tilt for a long time and I think I have that worked out and the other thing for me was that it had to be at or lower than my handlebars. I have an adjustable stem so I was able to make adjustments at the bars once I got the correct heigth on the saddle. Finally after 2000+ miles I'd say it's comfortable but not the lazy boy lounger others speak of.

Don't make the mistake I did of rushing the break in. Follow the instructions that come with it and ignore all the 'this is how I got my Brooks to break in faster' advice. Faster break in, likely shorter life.

No argument here about the importance of saddle adjustment in mm's.

They sure look good on a touring bike. Good luck.

it'll be interesting to see if your experience this time is any different than the first time around.

Up Date on my Brooks B17 Special Saddle this time around has been good for me.No pain at all this time around I guess it really does help to get it set just right the height the tilt and front to back must be right on or you will have pain or I did on my first Brooks Saddle.Today was a little cool out side but I still enjoy my ride with my B17 Brooks Saddle.Just wish I had known this the first time.It would have save me some money oh well live and learn. And some Proofide goes a long way too.
