Does anyone use these? I bought one with a Michelin Carbon tire for my road bike. There was no locknut and (from what I can see) no place to screw one on. It's the first time I've seen this and I'm just wondering whether it was left out of the box or if Michelin doesn't consider the locknut necessary. It seems to me that it's an easy way for grit to find it's way in.
Any answers?
Locknuts are not needed. There's nowhere for dirt to go with the tube sealing up against the rim. The threads on the outside of a presta valve just make it harder to remove the pump head.

Great, thanks for the quick reply, that's all I needed to know. Well... until I see something else for the first time.
