Yep, Nashbar is having yet another sale (imagine that!). This time, special pricing extends to the Bellwether Omni Elite Jersey, in sizes to XXL, for $10.

Now that it's completely sold out in all sizes, Nashbar has put up their "order now, we'll honor the price -- when we get more in stock, we'll send you one" note. Might be worthwhile.

Hmmm...so, I must not be a Clyde at 5XL or 6XL /sigh Last time I wore a 2XL I was like 20yrs old and weighed bout 215...LOL

What's above "UberClyde" then? (besides plain fat that is)...

Well, 2X and 3X are Clyde sizes as well. If I do something like this again I'll try to mention the size range in the title.

Please! No worries...am whining at them, not at you....really! It's your fault they do not sell my size??? Or that I AM this size???

Just more reasons for the weight to keep coming off...

*hugs*

Peter, pardon the question, but what is your chest size?

I tried to order yesterday - the order won't go through even with that note, says there's insufficient stock quantity to place the order. It's wishful thinking on my part anyway, banking on being able to fit in a 2x later! Ha!

No worries, it is what it is...

I have not measured recently. I *assume* around "60".

I have some 3XL polo shirts (old) that fit fine, and I have some 6XL shirts that are a touch loose. My brother bought me a wonderful $75.00 biking Jersey in 4XL that makes me look like a sausage - I won't return it as it is a motivator (it has scenes from Oregon all over it, my HOME).

I wear a 58 waist Levi 'comfort fit' jean, 30" inseam. My slacks are baggy size 60 waist (older) - I wear suspenders under my shirt when I wear them.

Buying new clothes, a 5XL or 6XL seems safest...

Lots of weight to lose :)

Hmm. Did you think I wanted to become your tailor? :-)

Jersey sizes are all over the map. That 4x might be smaller than another maker's 3x. Performance and Nashbar jerseys tend to be broadly cut, so one of those might fit you.

You might want to start wearing a compression shirt under your jersey. It helps 'smooth' your appearance and keeps your gut and, err, chest from bouncing around. The cheap ones they sell at Wall-mart and K-mart and Target work as well as the "name brand" ones.

+1 on the compression style of shirt for you. They're also generally going to also have moisture wicking properties as well, so its not like you're going to be wearing a diaper/sponge underneath the jersey.

I actually wear UA Long-size Boxerjocks on a daily basis and don't know how I lived without them before. It's a compression-style boxer brief. I know this has nothing to do with jerseys, but its along the lines of the compression fit.

If anyone on the trim end of the Clyde/Athena scale is interested in wool jerseys, Performance still has 2X Louis Garneau longsleeves (http://www.performancebike.com/bikes//Product_10052_10551_1085600_-1___) on sale for $50. (down from $130.)

They're race cut, so they're trim around the midsection. The 2X fits me:
6'6", 235 pounds, 49" chest, 40" waist.

Thanks for the info :)

I did buy some stuff from "AreoTech Designs" that just came - WOW, like 3-4 days after the order too.

Their 6XL Jersey is loose on me (not sure if cyclying clothes are really meant to be *loose* or not, but I like it that way),the "fleece tights" are perfect at 5XL, and the cycling shorts I *think*, might be too loose at 5XL (almost too loose to stay in place?) think biking spandex-type shorts are supposed to be sorta-tight, right? Am super impressed with the quality, tracking, and delivery speed! - FYI - in case anyone else was thinking of buying from them?

Peter, cycling shorts are supposed to be tight enough that if you had pockets in them folks could count your change. :-)

Seriously, they need to be tight so, ah, em - how shall I say it? - the, err, organs of increase are secured up and out of the way. This will feel weird at first. Heck, it will feel weird most of the time. But you will get used to it.

Unless you are racing or riding in an area where branches or other obstacles are going to snag on loose-fitting clothing, jersey fit isn't so important.
