..or at least the ones who watched the Olympic closing ceremonies.

They were start to finish a jab at or spoof of ourselves for all the normal Canadian stereotypes. A tongue in cheek show.

Self deprication is a normal humor for Canadians. We like to make fun of and laugh at ourselves. Especially on all things perceived as Canadian.

NBC commentators sure didn't get so I hope some of you did. Like I always say about Jay Leno, if you have to explain the joke, it was poorly delivered.

I didn't see any Kraft Dinner or Maple Syrup jokes at the Olympics. :)

Also, did the Bare Naked Ladies get some air time?

No, but they played...3 or 4 times at various free concerts :)

Great closing ceremonies. I will have to ask my merican buds if they got to see everything (the three monologues were great)

Excellent. We don't have a TV at home, but just happened to be in a maternity ward room with a TV for the first few days of the games, so we watched quite a bit. But we missed the closing ceremonies.

Meh,too busy putting my head in the pilotless gas range after the hockey game.
Are those "Newfy" jokes still fashionable in the Great White North?

well to be honest, newfie jokes are usually from the east side of the mountains. But yes they are...:)...god love them newfs, they make more fun of themselves than we do...

Newfies are all stuck in alberta, their cars didn't know what to do with a mountain
How to get action in newfoundland - bag of chips and a beer

I have actually been skreeched in. I miss my newfie friends from ontario. Amazing group of people.

Canadian self-deprecation is great.

I recently added "The Saddest Music in the World" to my list of favorite movies. It's witty canada humor with an oddball arty twist.

I crewed for them for two tours. Watched every show and where unions permitted operated spots. Best fun ever as all three are truely great people. But that's another story, maybe another thread.

We had sort of a seperation issue here in the 1860's,caused a lot of trouble.
Besides, you need all those wacky goalies from Quebec,n'est pas?

Candy starred but I think Moore directed it. Maybe he produced it, can't remember.
