Classic & Vintage - Need help with old Crescent...

I got 1970 Crescent Pepita Professional De Luxe 320 given to me by a family friend. The bike is in really good condition, though the paint on the top tube has been damaged by sweat from all the riding the previous owner did on it. All the components are Campy Record. I'm rebuilding the wheels because I lack the knowledge and the money to use the Tubular rims that are on it. Out of curiosity, does anyone know the value of this bike?

I'm going to keep it to ride no matter what the value is, but its a nice looking bike to have.

Also, any other information you guys have on this bike would be great.

Cressents are Swedish bikes. I have seen some that are very good quality and some that are just plain junk, it seems like every one is painted a redish orange. I know that they still sell them here is the states, and have seen them pop up in small town bike shops.

What I recall about these bikes was the small ads they put in bike magazines showing a rather well-endowed Swedish vixen in bathing suit standing next to the bike. I kept hoping they would increase the size of the ad so I could uh...check the specs of the bike better...

Thank you for the info. Other than some sweat damage to a bit of the paint on the top tube, and some dust from the garage it sat in, the bike is in wonderful shape. The wheels are currently being rebuilt with Velocity Aero's around the original Nuevo Record hubs, and I put some Crank Bros. eggbeaters on it, but other than that it has all the original componentry. I really like the bike and am thankful for the opportunity to add a few more miles to it.

It's a pity you've already started the rebuild on the wheels. Tubs are no big deal, provided you can buy them OK, and they do give a lovely ride. Having said that, I have to admit to giving mine up a few years back, but I do a lot of riding in London (England) where the ration of punctures to miles covered is well above the average. I think if more of my riding had been on open roads, though, I'd have the tubs still!

I would have loved to keep the tubs, but it seemed like a hassle. I'm actually using the bike for commuting also, to and from campus. i'm actually traveling to london for a semester abroad in the spring. i guess i'll need to find a cheap bike out there, because shipping this one would probably be aa bit unreasonable.
