Wow this thing made out of bamboo, and probably weighs next to nothing!

At the 2009 U.S. Bike Mfgrs show in Portland, OR there were two bamboos bikes on display (from different Co.s), if I remember correctly.
They were strong, light and very good looking.
Applications of bamboo never stop to amaze me

are they just bamboo covered?
are they just bamboo covered?
Nope. There bamboo only. Very light. Ride like a dream says my LBS owner who is going to stock a few frames, and is building a fixed gear up as we speak.
No wonder Panda's are almost extinct. Man harvests bamboo for so many different applications. I doubt bamboo bikes will last though as bike frame material.
^^^^^^^Bamboo grows like a weed. Once planted you could practically bomb it and its back.
It gets outa control real quick if your not careful. Doubt we would ever run out of it.
Its actually a form of grass. It can grow as much as 24 inchs in a day in the right conditions.
