having a hard time deciding one over the other, the Cosmo looks good for protected tailight and the Logo looks good for flat rack and dark color. Anyone have distinct preferences for one over the other?

Can't speak for the Cosmo... But I really like my Logo. I've never been concerned about the rear light area. The stainless is nice though. That being said... either one is a good choice.

I like the Logo more.... because I didn't want to spend the extra money. ;)

talking about protected headlight... i took the LOCC. it holds a brick of a u-lock (by abus, no less!) for me.

the logo doesn't shield the rear light much at all, you can give an unplanned accidental whack to your rear light by your own load - and probably the length of the top "platform" is shorter.

all are rated max 40kg load anyway... so nothing that works different for me. call me paranoid, but i chose the LOCC just for the u-lock carriage ability.

Aren't they identical, color aside (and weight and carrying capacity)?

Get the Carry (http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/product-Tubus-Tubus-Carry-Titanium-Rear-Carrier-260g-13956.htm)!

Sorry, I'd have to lose 40lbs of fat before I considered a titanium rack.

i have a logo, and have not had any problems with my supernova taillight, or my new BM lightline taillight.

taillight protection is not an issue really...

The Cosmo was redesigned last year. http://www.tubus.com/en/rear-carriers
Wiggle has a great price on it too. http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/cycle/7/Tubus_Cosmo_Rear_Rack/5360025257/

I'm getting the Airy (http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/cid/UWPQUQ7YFTZ2J37ZPJT47Z985XYB45HI/product-Tubus-Tubus-Airy-Titanium-Rear-Rack-for-26-%28559%29-and-700c-%28622%29-Wheels-13955.htm) for my road bike for CC tours.... as soon as I win the lottery.

I think the Cosmo would be the better choice due to the stainless steel. I would think that the Cosmo would offer the benefit of not rusting. I couldn't imagine my bike with a rusty rear rack.

I've decided it is after installing a LightOn LED tailight on an Axiom streamliner rear rack. On a whim I installed the angle bracket over the light as a kind of guard. When I put the bike in a friends pickup the guard bent down a bit when the end of the rack hit the bed while lying down. If the guard wasn't there I'm pretty sure it would have smashed an led.

My tent overlaps the light on my Logo enough to reduce its usefulness. I haven't worried about the light being damaged, but there certainly would be some chance for it to be banged up.

The Logo rusts where it has been scratched, so every year I've sanded it down and retouched it. This year I had it (and my bike too) sand blasted and painted with an epoxy base coat and polyurethane two-component glossy black top coat. It is beautiful and I expect will remain so much longer than the original black finish.

I think if the Cosmo were available in the day, I would have bought that. Light protection, weight (marginal), wider shelf are advantages and the SS is a bonus. Match it with a Nova!

I have the Cosmo and the Nova. I'll never have to buy another rack again. And they look good.

I have the Logo on a bike that I use for commuting - the rack is used every day, and has been for the past 4 years. I have a supernova 161-T mounted to it, and have had no issues at all with the rack. (Supernova light is only 1 yr old)

??? So, on a completely different rack, with a different light, taillight protection might be an issue- I wouldn't know.

But like I said before, on the Tubus Logo rack that we are discussing, with the supernova light (which sticks out about an inch) or a BM lightline plus which is very flat but wide, you wont have any problems.

I'm going with the Carry...but not for the weight reduction (like the post above...I should lose 40lbs plus before I start counting grams on components). I'm going for the Carry because I like the resistance to corrosion that titanium has. Yes...it's extremely over priced, but I did well on the frame and the parts....I can splurge on a rack (or so I'm telling myself). I'm using a VO randonneur rack in front.

why not the stainless? It certainly wont rust...

The stainless (and I did use stainless in front) isn't quite the shape or style that I want. I considered the Fly, but that didn't cary the weight i wanted. I wanted something smaller, but strong.
