People recommend the Jandd Expedition rack as a solution to heel strike. Only problem is those are 85 bucks. Does anyone know of a cheaper alternative? I've looked up the Sunlite Alloy Welded Bicycle Rear Rack, and the Topeak Explored Bike Rack. Anyone know about these, or have any other suggestions in the $25-$35 price range?

If you really want to solve the heal strike issue... Can't recommend the Tubus Logo enough. That being said.. it's going to blow the budget.

one of the few, less expensive alternatives to the Jannd with a 16" deck is one of the IRD expedition racks. You'll likely need a SO on this one, talk to your LBS!

Same basic rack as Jandd Expedition, very well made with double welds, lot less $43. Can order direct.

There's another solution.

Good panniers have adjustments to allow you to move the bags farther back on the rack. I have size 12 feet and have no issue with bags. You can find really inexpensive racks to work with most quality bags.
