After weeks of agonizing and researching and waiting and being disappointed when my first choice (http://www.konaworld.com/bike.cfm?content=drfine) wasn't available, I finally have my new bicycle!

A brand new, 54cm, electric blue Dr. Dew (http://www.konaworld.com/bike.cfm?content=drdew)!

I just got home with it about 20 minutes ago. I haven't even had a chance to really ride it (I figured I should eat lunch first). It's really, really light compared to my old bike, though. The whole thing is noticeably lighter than my old bike sans wheels.

I just need to finish lunch, attach my cycle computer, and then I'm off on the inaugural ride! I think I'll go see if any of the local MUPs have cleared enough to be rideable.

Eeeeeeee! :D :D :D :D

Update: The MUPs are all still clogged with half-melted snow, but I rode a few miles around the immediate area, got some coffee, etc. Oh man, I love this bike! It's light, fast, nimble and the brakes? Oh god, the brakes! Hydraulic discs are pretty much pure sex. :D

Excellent. Congratulations.

I just got back from an exploratory run. The Canalway is plowed from Pittsford west only to the Brighton town line. Gonna have a go at it from the other end tomorrow. Great day for a ride. Enjoy your new bike!

Huh, interesting. The north branch of the Lehigh trail was clear from RIT to (presumably) Veteran's Memorial Park. Basically everywhere it corresponded to sidewalk, plus the section along John Street. The section going north from Jefferson looked like it hadn't been plowed in quite a while, if ever. Even the sidewalk part. As a result, I didn't get as far as the canal trail.

I'm assuming most or all of the Greenway is the same, since quite a bit of it isn't even stone dust.
