Hi all,
Is anyone here a member of, or know of any bicycling clubs in Atlanta? My mom's moving down there and she's sad to leave her biking group in Michigan. I thought I'd ask around and see if anyone knows of a club there. She'll be just north of Atlanta.

Thanks.

There are several "clubs" in the area. Here are some websites.

Southern Bicycle League (http://www.bikesbl.org)
Atlanta Bicycle Campaign (http://www.atlantabike.org/)
MACC (http://www.maccattack.com/)
Peaches Tanden Club (http://home.att.net/~rally_central/PEACHES.html)
BRAG (http://www.brag.org/)

I'm sure I missed one or two. Check with the bike shops near where you'll be living for "clubs" and rides that leave from the shop.

Sounds like your mom will be close to the Silver Comet terminus in Marietta.

Man is it crowded sometimes, but it might be an option occasionally. She can find out more here (http://trailexpress.com/).

Coney,

Where exactly will she be? I live a bit north of downtown, and I've mapped out a nice route that starts at about 25 miles that I can extend or shorten as time permits. Have her PM me and I can show her this loop. I'm not a club, but I can show her this neighborhood before she finds a club, or in between club rides.

She'll be in the Marrietta/ Woodstock/ Canton area. ( In know that's a big area, but I'm not sure where exactly she's buying a place to live.)

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'll let her know.

I forgot to mention that the Southern Bicycle League (http://www.bikesbl.org/) has a great ride calendar. Usually over 150 rides per month listed.
