Anybody know anything about Sci Con panniers? Can beat $50 for rear panniers, but are they really any good?

I've seen those under a different name. They are kinda like a big rubber bag. They do say they are waterproof. If that's true it's the only one that is in that price range. The down side is they don't seem to have any top or side pockets for things you will need on the way. If you are a lot better organized than I am you can put all your stuff in order of use and need with the common stuff on the top. I wish I could do that. Instead I stuff the pockets with little things I might need, like a rain jacket or tool kit.

Looks like my link expired. Try this one to a picture: https://secure7.nexternal.com/icycles/images/rearpannier.jpg

The one you're talking about is their dry bag. This one is a rear pannier supposedly marked down from $180. It's a more traditional design with pockets. They have a matching set of front panniers too.

They seem like they are pretty legitimately nice bags. I looked up their website, which has an english version, and they appear to be a pretty prominent Euro company. I am curious as to what attachment system they use.

Heck, for $50 bucks you really can't go wrong. I just got a set of Nashbar "waterproof" panniers for $40 and they feel pretty crappy and are made by ChiCom workers. Think I am gonna return those guys. For something made in Italy, 1000D cordura, etc. you should try them out.

Let me know how they work if you do get them.
