Bump...this was my first double-c ever. Will do the Highland Double again this year...with better training I might even try the triple. Great event

I'm in again. The highland route, of course. Next year I will do the triple.

Gonna try and make the Lowland Double my first DC.

That was my thinking last year, but I was persuaded to do the highland and was very glad I did. It really is a treat. It's really not bad at all. No worse than the Camino Real double, and all the climbing is in the first half more or less.

The lowland route is lame and the highland doesn't have much climbing anyway.

This will be my first double too. I originally thought I'd play it safe and do the lowland, but based on numerous comments I've seen on this board, I think I'm going for the highland.

too hardcore for me. might try to make it to one of the training rides, though.

Go for the highland. I did the lowland once, didn't like it at all. Since then I've done the highland five times.

I'm just glad we hit Potrero early in the day. Grimes is not bad, Dennison is long and kinda hot, otherwise no problem.

Fun ride; I'll be riding it again in 2010.

Another vote for the highland. The highland route has a little climbing, but not really a lot. The lowland has more traffic and is a lot less scenic. I did it once and got beaucoup flats besides.

Well that's reason enough. I'm allergic to flats.

Good choice. I dunno what it was that day, but I was riding with 2 other riders, and got two flats apiece. Almost had to patch a tube during a ride. <horrors> :D

Okay, I just read that entire thread from beginning to end. I am now more terrified and more excited than ever to ride this damn thing.

Would it be helpful to anyone to have the routes for the training rides on the MapMyRide or Ride with GPS websites? I have a couple of the routes stored from last year and was thinking of putting the links up on the FaceBook site. Sometimes those sites can be a little twitchy with the turn-by-turn stuff.

This actually would be helpful for me. Lately, I've been getting my rides in during the week so I'll miss the official training rides, but if MapMyRide routes are available, I can do them as my schedule permits. Plus, I'm just always looking for interesting new rides. As it is, I've kept my eye on the official site in case maps get posted, but I don't know if they do that.

But hey, if it's only me, don't sweat it...

Sadly, Bill Patterson died yesterday, of an apparent heart attack, doing what he loved, riding his bike (http://www.facebook.com/home.php?ref=home#%21/topic.php?uid=256270153109&topic=16352).
