I have never noticed this in reviews, but does the size of the SD card affect response time of a digital camera? It seemed like our canon camera got way slow at everything (from reviewing pix to shutter lag which went from noticeable to huge) when I switched from a 512MB card to a 2GB card. Was that likely to be actually happening (or was I imagining it)? If so, have cameras improved so that a 2GB card wouldn't be so crippling now?
Not all SD cards are the same. Your larger card most likely has a slower throughput.

Perhaps you're taking pictures with the flash and have just started around the time of the 2gig card? I know Canon point and shoots have crazy lag when using the flash.

Thanks. I had managed to stay oblivious to that additional thing to keep track of. SS, I'm sure the flash/red-eye pre-flash don't help either.
didn't want to start a new thread, since I'm a rare foo-poster, but I want to buy a pocket digi-cam for my wife. Something in the $200-250 range that can take good shots with minimal (none) camera knowledge. Any advice? Is there a standard out there for this kind of thing?
thanks in advance
