Introductions - Newly minted 40-year old says hello!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Yep, I just turned the big 4-0 and as many men do when they get to this point in their lives, I am reevaluating a few things. I am getting back into cycling and planning on using it as both a fitness routine and as a fun activity. Back when I was a teenager I used a 10-speed as my ONLY source of transportation, until I got my first car at 19. Man I was in a lot better shape then!

Well, I hope to get back into decent shape again, partly by cycling and partly by weight-training. But, having been away from both activities for some years, I'm going to ease into things and try not to overdo it. In this economy, I can't afford to miss work because I strained, tore, or otherwise damaged something on my body. Lots of people would love to have my job, not because it's that great, but because it's better than most of what's currently available where I live.

I'll be logging my miles over at bikejournal.com under the same username, Gutbuster.

Well, wish me luck.
