The surgery to get my Monocog into fixed gear didn't work out as well as I planned so I threw the freewheel back on and sold it to finance my next bike: a Surly Long Haul Trucker.

After the incident with my fat ass breaking my Langster I decided that I didn't want to take chances on a Steamroller; "give me the crudest, heaviest, strongest frame that can be bought for under $500." Luckily I got one second hand for $300. Currently the frame is getting modified for horizontal drop outs as well as getting ready to be blasted with a fresh coat of what I'd like to call 'baby poo brown' - not that Surly's 'exorcist pea soup puke' wouldn't also scare away would be thieves..

The cheap crap left over from the dead Langster will be transferred over for a truly gr00vy ride.

Look forward to posting some pictures as well as riding with you guys when it's said and done.

Humph...

I don't know what to think. How would a Steamroller be weaker for your fat ass than a modified LHT? And pea soup puke is the ****. Why give that up?... Why now, Lobo? You were just about to appear cool and all.

The Long Haul Trucker was designed from day one to haul a **** load of stuff. I'm not saying the Steamroller may not be capable but when my bike is hauling nearly 300lbs of man fat; I need everything in my favor.

I chose the brown because I wanted the ugliest color I could possibly find. Not even Surly carried over the original brown Steamroller frames after only one year of sales.

I don't want to appear cool - I just want to ride again.. I'm just drooling waiting for my frame to come back.. It sucks driving home and seeing people ride when you don't have a bike!

I concur, it truly sucks to drive home. I feel much better when I ride.
