Picked her up off Craigslist today from a lady who said she'd been unassembled in a bike bag for the last ten years and she didn't want to ship it back with her to NY.. Shimano 600 hubs, brakes, F/R derailers, headset, cranks and downtube shifters..Tires are 700x20, hold air and are wrapped around Ambrosio rims...Bars and stem are Cinelli . LooK clipless were included and will be sold or traded.. Lots of nicks and scratches but I like her..

I'd venture you did well....you certainly got $100 worth of components at the VERY least. I don't know the brand but it looks liek it will clean up just fine.
Those spokes bladed?

That's a hell of a deal for $100. That era of Miele is their best IMO. Pre-dates the internal cable routing trend.
Now, clean off that rust!

Sweet!
I'll trade ya for that Lemond..It's missing a few spokes but I'll overlook it.. ;) You made a nice find !!

No Sir round..
:bang::bang::bang::bang:
And I can't find a 600-equipped bike for under $300.

PS: nice snag! :thumb:
It'd separate $100 from my wallet. The signs of use just make it easier for me to ride it.
Damn rust

Rocking the Pandas !!
Gonna find some ocilic(sp?) acid for the rust..
... wait. Are those elephants?
Wow! I think the are!
Any way to date this bad boy?? I've read about Miele before. Mr. Miele moved to Canada from Italy and started building frames... ? I've got this story right, don't I?

You may not find it everywhere. It's not sold around here anymore.

Jim Miele was a proud Italian-Canadian that owned International Cycles in Toronto and was the importer and distributor of Bianchi in the 80's. The mountain bike boom really hurt his brand, (which is now owned by the Procycle Group) so he ended up moving on to other things. He died in 2003.

Ah! I did have the right guy. I seem to remember that his frames were quite nice. Looking at the one here, the lug work looks nice.
Got a job ahead of you cleaning her up, though.... huh?

I love my two Miele's, a Lupa and a Gara. Very underrated ...

$100 for THAT old thing ?!? - Why, they even forgot to paint the fork!
But don't get all consumed by regret now....You can get a brand new bike with a painted fork at Walmart for that same price. :innocent:

I'd like to see a lady unassembled in a bag period, much less one trying to ship a bike, but that is one nice find!
I'd say you did well. I had a very similar Miele in through high school that served me quite well for racing, training, commuting and instigating (a pink road bike and lots of spandex will do that in high school). I wasn't nice to it, but it kept coming back for more, until it was stolen off my roof rack.

You're joking, right?

I was curious about the Sabatini in the other thread and came across this (http://www.classicrendezvous.com/Italy/Sabatini_main.htm).
In 1978-79 a Canadian bicycle shop (International Cycling) told him he would buy many of the bikes (about 30). Sabatini built all of them by hand and sent them to Canada in two shipments. .. the first order of about 10 bikes was immediately paid ... the other 20 bikes was never paid and he was never able to get the money.
Hmm.
