A friend of mine, Stephan Wanger, is cycling around the world - 25,000 miles in 280 days - all in the name of charity. He is raising money and awareness for the American Diabetes Association, American Diabetes Foundation, Leukemia Research Foundation, Mother's Against Drunk Driving, The Working Bikes Cooperative, and other charitible foundations. Please read about his journey at his website. His cycling journal is also on his site, and it's a great read for anyone who vicariously wants to pedal around the world.

He's at www.aspiretoinspire.org .

Stephan is currently in Orlando having been on the road for 30 days since he left Chicago. If you see him on the road, don't be shy about saying hello.

Oscar from Chicago, seldom grouchy, but I have my moments. Visiting here after a long absence to shill for charity.

I met Stephan through the Working Bikes Cooperative. At WBC, we receive donations of used unwanted bicycles and ship them to developing countries. Since 2001, we have shipped over 3000 to partners in Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania, Lima, and Nicaragua. We are completely self supporting, earning our keep through the sales of bikes locally at low cost. It's the happiest place on (my) Earth!
