Hi everyone,

Currently am living in Germany, in a city where the bike lanes are kind of random, unlike Berlin or Köln.

I've been cycling all my life, in all 7 countries I've lived in: for leisure and for transport as my husband and I live a pretty car-free life or rather car-lite life, as we rent a car if we need to go to remote places or such things, which isn't often.

In addition to a couple of racing bikes I already have, I'm going to build (or, maybe assemble is more appropriate?) my own bike: getting the frame, and wheelset and crankset in bits and pieces as I save up, and whenever I find the time. So, I think joining this forum might be a good idea :)

See you on the threads!

Welcome.
You're bound to find here lots of varied advice on which parts to get. Good luck.
If you post your opinions on your local bike lanes, it'll likely stir up a rousing debate in the Advocacy and Safety forum.:thumb:

Welcome. Where abouts in Germany are you ? I spent near 11 years there , my dad was Army and I enlisted and got stationed there again as well. I so miss it. 8(

I have found a ton of info here , so I am sure you will find what you need and then some.

Thanks, am just looking around right now - Germany's quite good with cyclists, the drivers are quite aware of cyclists sharing the road.

I have lived in Verden , Bad Kissingen , Wurzburg and Zirndorf. I would like to go back and see how much has changed in the areas I have lived in. Oh, and get to taste good beer again, lol.
