I was talking to my mother last Sunday. She was sharing with me that she was starting to get out on her bicycle, "only half an hour." She explained, along with the fact she liked having a little bit of tention to push against while she rode. She wasn't going out for the olympics or anything, but starting a new health regeme.
That all ended last night.
I got the call from my Step Dad. Mom passed away last night.
You guys who have been here know what this is like.
I don't mention this to get email or anything, just to share a bit of my life, I'd changed her's, and have shared with her the joys of posting here.
Our conversation ended with her telling me not to stop riding. I won't. But I'll think a lot about that conversation when I think about giving up on some commute.
Mom's are special, and we only get one... :(

You made me cry tonight with your simple words. So happy for you that your mom crossed that bridge into sharing your life.

But on the bright side, your last moments with her were talking about something you love doing and something she was starting to enjoy. It ended on a good note.
Let her last words to you be your first words of inspiration next time you're riding through a headwind, storm, up a steep hill, or through the gloom of night; never stop riding, never give up. She's right up there leading, you wouldn't want to let her down.
