Ok, so, as it stands now you can edit posts at a later time and it will say at the bottom of the post 'last edited by <name> on <time>.

Is it possible to view the original post before the edit?

Right now it's pretty close to that wonderful Memory Hole, as seen in Nineteen Eighty-Four. You know the contents changed, but there's no way to compare it to what it was originally.

What I'm saying is, that spelling/grammar fixes and adding/removing content is fine, but you should be accountable to what you've said. You should not just be able to make outlandish claims, then revoke your statements with a simple edit. You can catch original statements if they are quoted by another user, but this is not good enough. It's pretty close to what companies do when their brand name is tarnished. They switch names and get to start off with a clean slate, but this shouldn't be allowed.

Please add a 'view original edition' to heavily edited posts.

That's only available to staff, and heavy edits won't affect captured quotes, rtemember. That's why I ALWAYS capture a quote.
