Did you mean to post this in the Roadie forum? I don't think anyone here could handle such a pace line.

The next time I need groceries, I'm going to put on the spandex, gather 7 or 8 skinny friends, and ride 22 mph to the Kroger. Of course I won't be able to purchase anything more than a sports drink, since I won't have any way to carry it!

The reasons why I posted this video here rather than the Roadie forum is the Aussie's observation of the number of cyclists they see as they train, "...more cyclists than most places except for Europe...." or similar utterance. And the terrain that they cycle in is similar to what Southern California cyclists all over ride in (except in the central cities).

I wonder if there observations are accurate. I would have though you'd find a lot more transportational cyclists in either Canada or Columbia.

However, I might be wrong too, according to this data (though it's over 10 years old...) http://www.ibike.org/library/statistics-data.htm

Anyway, all those roadies just made me feel suddenly inadequate.

I bet they wouldn't be as fast as you on 30 pound bikes with 20 pounds of groceries in a backpack and a hot pizza on the rear rack!
