Any of you folks ever ride a Manitou X-Vert dual crown? Something around a 99' or 00' model? Someone online (local) is selling one for $50, just wondering if they were alright. Need a fork for a second bike is all.

I think that they were the equivelant of the Dorado, so they would have been top line forks. From what I heard about them they were a good fork, but like you I don't know much about them. But from what i do know about them, $50 bucks isn't a bad price at all, depanding on condition.

I read a few reviews over there, but not sure of the exact year of it (either a 99' or 00' model) but should be in alright condition. Guy said it was used, but still works great

Hey Squirrel,
Those forks came as OE on my '98 FSR...they're probably suitable for a backup commuter bike, but not much more.
The spacers between the elastomers would blow out after even a marginally hard impact. Answer sent me about thirty replacements, and I went through them in one or two seasons. Caveat emptor, even for fifty bucks. (I wouldn't give twenty for them, seriously)

Yeah after seeing a few bad reviews saying the same thing, I decided to pass on them, but thanks for the info
