I want to buy a replacement headset for my '03 Specialized Allez Elite, and was wondering if any ol' Cane Creek headset (1 1/8") would fit. The headset I currently have looks like a low stack Aheadset, probably made by Cane Creek.

On bikepedia, the headset is listed as an Intellaset, which doesn't seem right. On the Specialized site, the headset is just listed as a 1 1/8 integrated headset.

I looked around on the internet, and it looks like even with the "cane creek" standard, there are different head tube widths to consider. Is there a most common head tube width, and do you think the common headsets (say the Cane Creek S2 or IS) would fit my bike?

Maybe pop your old one out and measure it, then take your verniers into the shop?
