That's what I've been led to believe. I just replaced a rim for an older Velomax Ascent II, and I used a Velocity Aerohead OC rim and it was an exact match. The Easton version was the same wheel, the newer EA90s may use something else, but I doubt it. I also know that the original Tempest used a Velocity Deep V.

Thanks zacster, just asking because i have a set of vista's and the erd that shows up in the sticker is different than the erd in the velocity website and that is kind'a confusing. Darn clinchers are like 100 bucks a pop and tubulars are like 25 bucks each and with the little riding i do i can do 1 set of tubbies each two years, even if one blow up, 25 bucks doesnt hurt that much after all. Wonder who has 280 grams tubulars moving around... anybody knows?

I don't know, but check out the thread in the touring forum (thread title: "velocity rims?") regarding certain Velocity rims having a problem with splitting. I have a co-worker who had a brand new velocity aeroheat rim split while on a tour. I've built up wheels for my touring bike with both Aeroheats and Cliffhangers (heavier version of aeroheat). I'm hoping to do some touring this spring. My co-worker has me nervous about my rims.

$100 for clinchers? Where are you buying them? I've never paid more than $50 and these were the Continental 4000s that are so popular. $25 tubulars probably aren't very good.

Zacster if you get open tubulars that are basically clinchers with more tpi's, u pay like 60 to 80 bucks a pop vs 25 to 35 bucks for a vitoria tubular.. performance.
