I'm considering buying a used 08 Gary Fisher Hoo Koo E Koo mtb. Everything is pretty much stock besides the tires. The chain, cassette, brake pads have been replaced within the past six months and the bike has about 500 miles on it. The seller wants 700 for it. Is this a reasonable price for this used mountain bike?
Thanks

Only 500 miles and he had to replace that stuff? I always love those Craigslist adds that claim their $3000+ bike was barely ridden. Who pays that and doesn't ride?
I'd stear clear unless the price comes down significant.

I sold my '08 HKEK last spring for $600 and it had 3 rides and a total of 20 miles on it. Found a road bike I had to have. That was the only reason I sold it that cheap. There wasn't a scratch on it. I agree, that $700 is a bit steep. Especially with everything that's out there now.

Thanks for the responses guys. I'll try talking down the price on this one. It does seem a little bit fishy that the bike had its cassette, chain, and brake pads replaced so soon... unless the seller got suckered by their lbs. I'll need to take a closer look at the bike to know how used it is. Is there anything specific I should look out for?
