Visit a few bike shops in your area and look at what they have. Test ride a few. When you find the type and style bike that you like, look for a similar bike on the websites you listed. If you're not sure what size bike you'll need, ask the folks at the bike shop what size fits you.
BTW: the road bike you'll need will not be the same size as a mtn bike.

Once you've selected a few bikes, ask about those specific models. It's easier to offer advice on a certain bike rather than general information about a company.
