I found this article Lithium or hydrogen bike? (http://news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105-10467341-1.html?tag=newsEditorsPicksArea.0) which maybe of interest to some of you. Personally, I just want a light but tuff-n-nuff bike for the Canadian winter that don't cost a bundle.

I didn't read the article yet, but I think the lithium might be good for my brain chemistry....
Yep, I'm going to send a portion of my energy, while riding on flat terrain, to be stored in a battery, thereby wasting most of it to inefficiency, just so I can use the remainder to assist myself when I'm trying to pedal a very heavy bike uphill.
Me, I'm just moving this from Commuting to E-bikes. Carry on...

then again that hydrogen bike might get a real bang for the buck... ;-)

Carbon. My engine and power source is carbon based and will remain so, TYVM, despite the fact that so many of my friends are becoming eBike fanatics.
I don't see the point of the fuel cell its heavy.

Isn't hydrogen explosive anyways!?! (eg: hindenburg). Do I really want to strap this thing to the back of my bike when it goes off? Also I looked at the article and found it silly with that first bike design cause the motor is causing drag when you are going downhill AND when you are on a flat road to keep the battery charged. Seems like it was only designed to help on hills but will slow you down on the flats. With the silly regenerative charging AND lugging around a 60lb bike this is actually cause more work than any normal bike you can buy! I thought the ebike was to help you through most of the rides but the downhill. This machine is just masochistic and pointless, since you are having such a workout on flat lands your legs would be soo built up by then uphill would be an easy cakewalk.
