Road Cycling - Wrapping the package-Road shorts

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Is it better to dress up, down, left, or right for cycling when wearing road shorts, I mean whats most comfortable for hours of pedaling and sitting.
Also what's best for stops at stores and such, I've noticed out the corner of my eye that many women around give a solid peep down that way and I'd like to leave a good impression. :D
I think you should just wear one of these outfits...

Up for me. That's how it ends up anyway, so you're not grinding the loose skin beneath your 'nads.
If you're gonna carry a banana along for the ride, it's as good a place as any.

Sometimes I'm half tempted to think bike shorts need a "jock pocket"...so we wouldn't have to worry bout this...just have to move up....wait....now that I thought of the mechanics behind this....nevermind...that is an image I bet the women would love to see, but I think the rest of us can live without...

I was going to carry it there but then the physics department called and said it would problably get mashed making a horrible mess.

On a related note, anybody ever get roller-ball? That's where one or the other of the boys slides back and forth over the nose of the saddle as you pedal. Once it starts, no amount of adjusting on the bike seems to stop it. Instead, it calls for a complete stop and a thorough rearrangement. :)
Years back I read a study....it was some college who did the study...I couldn't believe someone got the money for the study....but they did it. The findings were that if you are right handed the "package" if put the right will produce better performance than putting the "package" to the left on a righthander. So left hand left side.

Good to know.
There, you see this is why we need this mens forum, that info is very good but has no use to women.

jock pocket would be a compaartment to hold our "stuff". Then finally I had a picture of it in my head, and well...it was kinda wrong...Really wrong. I was thinking having a pocket like that hang so you could jsut sit up on the bike, and it would lay down flat...but where would the gonads go? so that would lwave you with a penis pocket....now I think nobody (including most women) would ever want to see somethng that screwed up.
Sometimes I can come up with great ideas....most of the times it's just utter rubbish like this.

Yes, except its dropping to the side of teh saddle and as my leg comes back up, it gets pinched between saddle nose and thigh and gets shot back up....really freaking painful. An for some reason I can never adjust enough to get it to stop once it does...worst part is you can almost hear it...think of geting kicked in the nuts about 90 times a minute...it truly sucks :(
