I only had one teacher for all of 3rd grade. That included English as well as the other stuff. She had a name.

For most BF members, it wasn't a successful educational experience anyway. None of them can spell.

Actually, they probably spelled much better then.

Curious you would say Kaiser, because my Miss English would later marry and become Mrs. Heinz. A plot by Germany?

Only one teacher for the whole grade...Mrs. Klein. I remember she loved dogs, and remember her coming into the room crying and telling us the President had just been shot (JFK).....

I truthfully do not recall anything specific about third grade, other than I won a prize from the local newspaper for an essay I wrote. My mother still has a copy of Edmond paper from that day.

This is a funny thread because third grade was actually a year that stands out in my mind. My teachers name was Mr. Wilson. He must have only been about 60 but at the time he seemed ancient to me. He had a real bad temper. He would come in smelling like booze and cigarettes almost every morning. I was a bad kid so I probably deserved it but he had a habit of grabbing me and some other kids by the arm just above the bicep hard enough to leave a bruise when he wanted you to move or sit down. I complained a couple of times to my parents and showed them the bruises so they must have called the principal.

A few days after that happened he got mad a friend of mine and grabbed him by the arm and his arm came out of joint. The paramedics came and took to the hospital. That was the last time I saw Mr Wilson and that afternoon we had the assistant principal for a sub.

The story gets better. The next day we had a new teacher named Miss Marcron. She was about 21 and she was by far the hottest teacher that I ever had in my whole life. I will never forget her or Mr Wilson - for different reasons :-). I could never tell you who my 2nd grade teacher or my 4th grade teacher's name was but 3rd grade is a year I remember. :-)

Mrs. Sheffield. Hot Mrs. Sheffield. I think I lusted for her in 3rd grade.

I despised my gr. 3 teacher. Horrible woman. She told me not to lie in creative writing assignments and Lake Tahoe doesn't exist. She resembled Mrs. Roper from "Three's Company" with the orange fro and muu muu dresses. Horrible.

Mrs. Logan was my third grade teacher. I remember her taking a poll of the class to see who our parents voted for (Nixon or McGovern). Me and another kid were the only ones who raised their hands for McGovern. Kind of like the nation in microcosm.

Sounds like my 2nd grade teacher except her hair was black.

Didn't have an "English teacher" specifically... she taught us all the subjects, and happened to also live down the street from me. (which was eerie) Mrs. Wright.

Mrs Dowler.

She was a terrifying woman.....to a third grader. She looked about 300 years old, and legend had it she was undead. :p (No, I'm not kidding!) She actually turned out to be a nice little old lady, though.

Mrs. Collins. 3rd and 4th grades. She was a quick tempered gal that you never knew her mood. I think she liked me as she always placed my desk in front of hers. :innocent:

Mrs. Sheffield. Hot Mrs. Sheffield. I think I lusted for her in 3rd grade.

I had a major crush on my 3rd grade teacher too. Mrs. Smith. :)

I think 2nd-3rd grade is about the time when that type of thing starts to happen

Most of my elementary school teachers were nuns but my Kindergarden through fourth grade teachers were civilians. Ms. Petty always wore a short but modest skirt (this was the early seventies). Similar to Gitarzan, I liked to sit in front of her during story time.

Sweet old gal taught all the classes in third grade.
Large woman, wore a girdle with steel stays, made all the boys take a turn dancing with her. We hated it, or course. Girls loved dance class.
I liked English, and Mrs. Topham certainly knew that subject well!

You must be the same age as me. My 3rd grade teacher was Sister Mary Zoe. You did not f*** with her.

Mrs. Jacobsen. She was sweet, friendly, and barely able to maintain discipline. She used the 5th grade teacher/enforcer to keep us boys in line.

Hell, I remember all my teacher's names! What they taught is occasionally a little fuzzy....

Right, so Miss English and I got along really well. She liked me, gave me plenty of attention and I did well. Did I have a crush on her? Every boy did! In second grade all we heard about was Miss English.

My 2nd grade teacher was a plump middle aged woman named Miss Gura. Her thing was eating peanuts and taking lots of bathroom breaks. Whenever she left the room, all hell would break loose as we took off our shoes and slid up and down the smooth tile floors. Someone always stood guard at the door to watch for her return, upon which we'd scurry back to our desks.

So one time she didn't return for the longest time. All of a sudden over the loudspeaker we hear the principal's voice telling us to sit down and wait for Miss Gura. She had the whole class line up outside the principal's office and he gave us a lecture 6 at a time.

Having Miss English - 24, slim, 5'5", blond, blue eyes, bright smile, pretty, engaging, fun - as a teacher was like day and night compared with Miss Gura. For me especially because I, along with another boy named Kenny, were co-teacher's pets. Sad news though - as Christmas approached, my family would move across town into our new home and I would finish 3rd grade in another school, which sucked big-time. Before we left, Miss English wanted to do something nice for me, so she invited me and Kenny over to her house for lunch on a Saturday. I had a date with Miss English!!!

She followed up her kindness by having the entire class write me a letter in cursive as an assignment. To this day I have an envelope with 25 letters, all of them more or less saying the following...

Dear Kiddsisko,
How are you? We miss you. Do you like your new house? What did you get for Christmas? Is your new teacher as nice as Miss English? Please come visit us. Your friend, Ricky.

I can't remember my third grade english teachers name, or the name of my english teacher when I was 14, but I do remember that she was hot in a cool ass hippie kindoff a way! I do remember staying after school to finish an english test once, I also remember kissing her full on the lips while she was leaning over me to check my work! =0) she didn't pull away, and when she did she just smiled, =0) I didn't get called into the office the next day and she never mentioned it to me, just smiled at me and shook her head every once and a while. ;0) crazy times! LOL!

Can't remember my 3rd grade teacher's name.

4th & 5th were Mrs. Lupien & Mr. Geiger. Mrs. Lupien would teach the class in the morning, then Mr. Geiger, the Principal, would teach us in the afternoon.

I don't remember any 6th grade teachers.

7th & 8th my homeroom teacher was Mrs. Cherry. She's also the only teacher I remember from that school.

Mr. Starkey was my teacher for everything. One of my biggest regrets in life is that prior to emigrating, I didn't make the effort to track the SOB down and, even if just for a short while, make his life as miserable as he made mine that year.

Never had any hot teachers, although some of the more desperate cases had crushes on Mrs. Mitchell, who taught English at our secondary school. Had a decent art teacher, and in my final year, when I was beyond hope, a good French teacher. As for the rest, none of them had any business being around children.

I can remember what my first grade teacher looked like and the name and face of my second grade teacher. Can't for the life of me bring up anything for my third grade teacher. I can remember some details about lessons and events (we were guinea pigs for what became "The New Math" a few years later - set theory and some introduction to binary numbers) and my First Communion (I was raised Catholic) but zip about my teacher or teachers. I do remember discovering girls big time and think I was a player. Had access to a vacant house (new and unsold) basement and used it to play doctor. Had six regular patients and the occasional visitor. Checked a lot of temperature and did some urinalysis. Got closed down by the parents when like an idiot I brought my younger brother in on the deal and he blabs about it at dinner. "So Phil what did you learn today?" "Girls have a slot, Mom!"
