Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I'll be visiting my sister and her husband 4/6-4/13 and have been exploring my options for bringing my bike (not likely-too expensive) or a rental (called random and got quoted 80/wk for a fitness hybrid) or a cheap(?) buy off Craigslist to be donated at end of week...
Anyone have any suggestions? I'm a large Clyde (fitter than fatter but still 280) and while I would prefer one of m own bikes it appears I need to look into other options...
My ears are all open...:)

If you haven't been before, Corvallis is a awesome city to commute by bike. Bikes have dedicated traffic lanes downtown. They are indicated with a bike painted in the lane. There is bike shop every block. A lot will let you test ride. You could hit a different one each day and ride their bikes around. I have been looking for a bike on craigslist in this area, to use on my trainer an haven found much. If you are able to pick one up on there let me know and I might swing down and tak it off your hands when you are done. Let me know. Enjoy Oregon!

Thanks Jesse. Problem solved. Her neighbor has a bike for me to borrow for the week. Keep an eye out for a lost looking big fella with flower tattoos on his leg on a mountain bike in about two weeks.
Looking forward to it!

You can pick up a free area bicycling map (Corvallis & Benton county) from the local Parks & Rec office in Avery Park. Some of the local bike shops may also have these available. Enjoy your stay here.
