Howdy:
I just joined up from Oakland, California, where the weather is again turning to cycling.
Raced in the late 70s through the early 90s, when I abruptly burned out and stopped. But sadly I acquired a taste for 70s-80s steel frames, and I have now donated three of them to bike thieves in my area ('85 Medici, late 80s Eisentraut that I bought directly from Albert, and a 1980 Colnago). The Colnago was stolen in a break-in two months ago.
Anyway, I'm in the market for a nice 70s-80s steel frameset, probably in the Reynolds 531 range, maybe something that's a bit "stealth" at this point -- chipped paint, rust ok -- something that might fly under the common thief's radar. Just something I can ride around and commute on, go for the occasional distance ride, and have a nice feeling bike. So I'm gonna keep my eyes peeled for one of those on here :). I'd consider a complete bike as well, but right now I've got my heart set on building something.
Hope you are all well.
