If you are looking to do street and think you will be actually putting the pegs to use, then you will want a bike with 4 pegs, not 2, and you will likely want to get some front brakes on the bike so you can learn stuff up on the front wheel, unless that's to crazy for you.
My opinion is that the new trend of no front brakes is definitely limiting what some riders can do. The best pros almost all run front and rear brakes for street and that's exactly because of the doors that are opened by 2 sets of brakes.

thanks for the help
but are there any features or aspects of a street bike that would hamper the dirt abilities, and visa versa?
nothing is out of the picture as far as tricks go
any stock model sugestions

street bikes and dirt bikes are pretty similar.. the tires and pegs can be different, but most people I know who ride dirt, ride plenty of street too. Your basic good street bike is your basic good dirt bike.
