33year old male, Max heart rate 205, resting HR 50, max sustainable HR 180-185 for approx 55 min, sometimes more, depends on my motivation
I went out for Dinner last night, no alcohol, had sex, slept 8 hours, more sex, slept another 3 hours. I got up at 11:00 am. When my girlfriend woke me up, I was sleeping so soundly, I could barely move.
Ate Breakfast at 11:45 (3 scambled eggs, 4 pieces bacon, 4 pieces toast and jam, yeah 4...haha..)
took the dogs swimming, came home watched Olympic Tennis, ate a Cliff Bar @ 3:00
@ 4:00 I went for a 90 minute ride, every time I tried to get the HR over 170, I would just blow up. It was a solo ride, and i was zipping along at 22mph plus most of the way, but I just couldnt get my HR up. I even jammed hard on the short hills to no avail. @ 176 I would just pop. It was pretty much a "Bad day" but since I was all alone, it just turned into a short training ride. I was able to ride at 157 to 160 and feel OK.
I have been averaging 6-7 hours a night latley, and never feel rested in the morning, but last week was peaking the HR meter @ 205 in a race, and could ride @ 185 with no problem..
Is it possible to get too much rest, and have trouble getting the body "ramped up"?
