There is no L.A. bike marathon this Sunday that will coincide with the runner's marathon. A few friends and I plan to ride about half the route, starting from Mike's Bike Shop, at the corner of Pico Blvd. and Carmona Ave.. We'll depart at 6:15 a.m. sharp, head north to hit the marathon route, then ride it to its conclusion in Santa Monica.
Since the actual marathon won't start until 7 a.m. (the wheelchair contingent) at Dodger Stadium, the route will be clear and we probably won't be hassled by anyone (I've ridden the old route in reverse to the start of the bike marathon several times).
We'll come back up Venice Blvd. or perhaps the Ballona Creek bike path. Feel free to join us.
