View Full Version : Inline Brake Levers
Howdy,
I'd like to mount some inline brake levers on the flats of my cross's bars for easier braking offroad. I've never used these before as I am new to cross riding and have a pretty new bike. Can anyone recommend a quality set of these?

i'm checking them out too for a new nike. looks like empella and salsa make the good ones but they look like a pretty simple deal and i've seen some cheapo knockoffs on ebay under cyclocross.

Check Supergo.com and find these:
Tektro Bar Top Brake Levers - 31.8mm $19.95
$14.95

Road Bike Stuff
An ingenious and seamless solution for those seeking to add braking control to the bar top hand position of any road bike!
Unfortunately, my bike is in the shop and they are installing these while I am out of town. The bike dealer charges $50.00 for inline brake levers.
Check out the ones from Paul Components (http://www.paulcomp.com/crosslever.html) too.

The Paul's are definitlly not the economy model but for $80 they better be quality. I just got some from cane creek for 25 bucks. Salsa's go for $40. I just think spending money on high end cross stuff is a bad idea because your just gonna end up breaking it. Plus cross levers seem like pretty simple devices.
Can anyone recommend a quality set of these?

I have the Salsas on my cross bike, and they have been great thus far. Sorry, but I don't have an experience on any others.

My Tektro's work great. Simple, effective, cheap.
