In late September, 2003, I ordered a custom Mondonico frame from Shaw's Lightweigt Bicycles in Santa Clara, CA. After the expected six-month wait, my frame arrived on March 26, 2004. Three days later I was hit by a car at a four-way stop while I was returning from a long ride. The driver is unlicensed and uninsured and she ran the stop sign. I had a bad fib-tib break in addition to a whole lot of lesser injuries.
My Schwinn Supersport was wrecked. Just before my surgery, I called Terry Shaw to tell him not to build the bike and to leave the frame in the box until further notice.
Well, five months later, I am starting to ride again and look what I've got! :D

54 cm Mondonico frame
Reynolds Ouzo Pro carbon fork and steerer
Deda 215 Anatomic bars
Deda logo stem
Campy Centaur gruppo
Campy Chorus Ti seatpost
Mavic Open Pro wheels built on Campy Record hubs
Michelin Carbon tires
Weight: 19 lbs.
I can't do too much riding yet, but my test ride was great. I never knew that a bike could be so well built and so smooth. I just can't stop smiling.
