When your lean your bike against a tree, fencepost, picnic table, stone wall, or portajohn, always prop it against the rear tire. The bike will stay put and be much less likely to roll and tip over than if you use the bar, seat, or toptube as the contact point.

Is there a part "B" to this story?

You should add this to the sticky, cryptid. It's a good bit of advice that seriously gets taken for granted.

Pro tip? Don't pros just hand their bike to a rookie mechanic so he can hold it?

Nope. I try and make one helpful post per year and that was it.

I try and make one helpful post per year . . . .How's that worked out for you? I'm contemplating doing it this year.

Hmm......... tried that one, without a lot of success.

I put an elastic hair tie on my left grip, to slip over the brake lever when I park it. Works perfectly.
