Clydesdales/Athenas (200+ lb / 91+ kg) - Finally got a chance to try out my new bike Wednesday

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Bought my self a bike over a week ago and the weather either turned to crap, or when it was nice I was working.

Yesterday after work I got a chance to really get a short ride in, with the pedals/shoes I put on, and the fancy Garmin Edge 500

I actually did more than that one "lap", but didn't realize I had to start the "timer" to make it record. I figured timer was for timing something, silly me. I do like all of the data you can get from this, though.

Off today and the weather is nice. Planning on heading to a nice bike trail in town here shortly.

I love the data those Garmins put out. I'm thinking about getting the 500 myself when I replace my current setup. Wow, your average elevation was around 5400 ft.. Are you up a mountain there in AZ. Pretty cool!!

I really like the 500. I just wish it could keep the GPS unit off for times when I decide to stay on the trainer, it won't have to go through two minutes of trying to find a satellite indoors.

The heart rate feature is pretty cool, too. The temperature feature, however, doesn't seem to be accurate for me.

I'm in NM, but close, yeah. Albuquerque is rather high elevation (my house, as you can see, is almost at 5500ft....guess that's why I'm so winded!).

The gadget-geek in my is really liking this Garmin, that's for sure!
