Would make a great commuter... credit card tourer. Is that what you're looking for? It has canti brakes. Tiagra shifters.... all decent stuff for the money.

I just built up a Trek 520. I'm out of play money. Otherwise, yes, I would like to own one.

So, it isn't good for loaded touring?

Looks like a decent buy to me.

It would be decent. I just don't like the gearing(can be fixed easy enough) and don't have any idea how long the chainstays are. Couldn't find anything on the website either. Maybe with some more hunting?

I've toured on much less bike for sure.

Check out the detailed specs here:

http://www.schwinnbike.com/chl/eng/Products/Road/Details/1357-S9WORTD-World-Tour-DLX

Chainstays are 445mm.

Couple of friends of mine finagled two of the 2008 version of this bike (called the World Adventure back then) for the second half of their round-the-world tour. They customized the bikes heavily, naturally, but the bikes took them from Alaska to San Diego to Key West.

A bit similiar to the Bikes Direct windsor tourist doesn't it? But less money on sale.
