Yep, he's in the keirin on Wednesday - that's his only event this time.

How old is he?

Is he slowing down, or has he suffered some injuries?

In other words, why isn't he in the sprint?

'Cause he went to the road racing side of things with Navigators and lost a lot of his mass & sprint speed to become an all-arounder...I hope he does well on Wednesday but I'm not really expecting it.

Thanks.

So, I suppose the lure of a possible gold was not enough

Here's a tiny bio on him with his reasoning...he seems fairly cinfident, though, so who knows. Also, I didn't know the US didn't even qualify for the sprint this time.

Not if he wants to keep feeding his family, no. Marty has been very outspoken about how crappy it is to try and make a living on the track, even as a gold medal winner at the Olympics (he won in 2000). So he switched over to the road so he could earn a better salary.
