I have started to ride my cx bike to school and around for errands so I wanted to get a set of panniers and a rear rack. I figured the more convenient the bike was to use, the more often I'd use it. I looked around online for reviews and suggestions, as well as checking out stuff at my local PB. PB didn't have too much, the standard basic rack and some bags. Enough to realize that heal strike was going to be an issue. Once I got oriented at what I wanted and needed I found an older online review of the Axiom rack and panniers. I found them pretty reasonable online (modernbike.com for $92 shipped, btw they were very fast 3 days from order to my door and I got an email with the Fedex tracking # as soon as they shipped).
The Journey rack seemed to sit farther back than some others, and the bags where the size I wanted and had a heal cutout.
There's not much else to say, the rack is nice, bolted right up with no problems, sturdy. The bags are perfect for my needs. They have a couple of little pockets and I like the elastic cord on top to stash stuff quickly. They are reinforced with a plastic panel inside and go on/off very easily. The bags look a little droopy in the pics since they are empty and new, to be expected I think. Time will tell how they hold up but my initial impressions are that they're sturdy, zippers work smoothly. I like the reflective bits on the back and sides. My shoe in the pic is clipped in and is a size 13/46, no problems at all for clearance.
I couldn't find any photos online except for the standard manufacturer ones so I wanted to get some user photo's out there, maybe it'll help someone visualize these things better.
