So we get the tandem out for our first toot of 2010 on a beautiful, warm, sunny March day. Mount the tandem in the "proper" fashion. I make a snarky comment about the stoker forgetting where I like the pedal for clipping in. I force the pedal into position and clip in. The stoker dryly remarks that the problem is likely that the cranks are 180 deg OOP. Doh! We had a good laugh and took a few minutes to get the cranks back in phase and retighten the timing chain. We want to give OOP a try someday, but I'm thinking 180 degrees might be a step in the wrong direction. Btw, we went on to have wonderful thirty mile ride, and thankfully the timing chain was the only oops from the winter's maintenance.

Tried OOP 180 degrees ONCE in 1977.
Been riding 90 degrees OOP for the past 225,000 miles.
Yeah, we like it!
Enjoy the ride TWOgether!
