The old stronglight stuff is beastly tough. Their seventies headsets were far tougher than period Campy stuff, and generally superior. Chainrings from the period are likewise mean, although the BCD on them is an odd diameter, so they don't fit on modern cranks. Can't speak for the newer rings, although the A9 headsets, with the roller bearings, are very good.

I run a stronglight 50T. Fine so far.
(edit: this is 'new' Stronglight with 135 spacing, which I fitted somewhat crudely into Miche Cranks. Lighter than the original, but not quite as stiff, methinks)

thank you. i ask as after 2 months of riding my chainring now has dents on the face of the teeth where it graBS the chain. i don't think it is down to incorrect chain tension, just a cheap stock ring.
