and boy, am I psyched!! :D
Just returned to biking last week...did 30 miles with the longest one being 20. I'm increasing my mileage 10% each week, so I should be set for my race.
It's called The Last Gasp, running from Sandwich to Provincetown on Cape Cod, MA. It's about 62 miles, but it isn't until Oct. 10, giving me plenty of time to train. This is going to be a blast...so glad I got back to my bike...

Wahoo, it's going to be great! Best of luck and don't forget to let us know how you get on!!!
Congrats! You're starting your training with plenty of time to spare, so you should be fine.
I rode Cape Cod back in June with the Great Mass Getaway MS-150 ride. Just so you have fair warning -- Cape Cod is not as flat as most people think it is. There certainly aren't any "oh my god" type climbs, but there are sections where it goes beyond "gently rolling", and most of those are near the end. You might want to work some hills into your weekly rides.
Let us know how you do!

There is actually one pretty gnarly climb in the Pamet Roads section of Wellfleet. I hit it every September on the Autumn Escape Bike Trek (American Lung Association).

I thought about the Autumn Escape...but I didn't think I'd be up to 50 miles back to back in little more than a month, so I decided to wait until next summer...
But I've added it to the growing list for next year...wish I'd started in the spring!!

You sound pretty amped. Put the same enthusiasm into your training and you're gonna breeze through and wonder why you didn't do it sooner! Good luck and keep everyone up on how your training is going...Good luck, although if you're doing it as right as you sound like you are, not much luck involved!
